Re: Mk1 Pi Restoration
Gun cleaned on with the clear, HB Body HS 699 applied same as above. All sorted had 2 runs which I’ve flatted back today (Sunday). The clear flowed out quite nicely so maybe just a light mop on the wheel front arches and chassis rail areas and that should be good. https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1mDR...

Re: Mk1 Pi Restoration
Managed to get to the workshop on Friday to shoot some paint at the engine bay. Dipping into the painters kitty bought me a ANI 150Q mini spray gun A little smaller gun to get in the awkward areas. I also added an extra water trap and regulator I thought this would improve the pressure drop going th...

Re: Old misfire - again
Sorry to lead you down a wrong path there Clifford, I wasn’t sure. I knew a later model there was one at TDC. Our own website the technical specification section is a little confusing. https://triumph2000register.co.uk/the-cars/technical-specifications/ https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1c4PY4AC7I6jE6b...

Re: Old misfire - again
From what tony has mentioned above thought I’d check out the accuspark gizmo and the instructions as I’ve never had electronic ignition. Here are some highlights taken from them that may be relevant here: Check the charging system; (multi meter) with the engine running the battery voltage should not...

Great idea in principle. But I think it fizzled out. This post was 2014.

Re: Mk1 Pi Restoration
Good to hear you keeping busy John! Every time I go to order bits from Toolstation everything is sold out for delivery, I guess everyone is home improving as you say in these challenging times. Yep I've swapped hats and now a sprayer  or a pretender. I've done some celly spraying on parts not p...

Re: Old misfire - again
To chop and change parts is folly, surely testing items is more sensible than condemning them. Buy a decent auto multi meter. Condensers and coils breakdown inside by humidity within them. Your coil maybe new 2 years ago but how long has it been on the shelf prior to purchasing. Carburettors tend no...

Re: Mk1 Pi Restoration
Hello Ian welcome to the forum. To answer some of your questions, my dad always says don't throw anything away. The engine in a Mk1 Pi would be a CR prefix and a number below 6800 on a british registered, I'm not sure about the overseas numbering. Anyway the crankshafts in a Mk1 pi are unique and wh...
