Re: Dropping the engine/gearbox...
Yep, MkII. Are there any hints/tips for getting the gear knob or gear stick off? I can sense that this might be one of those seemingly easy tasks that ends up taking loads of time if you don't know exactly how! I think the rest of the engine drop ought to be relatively straightforward. I'll r...

Dropping the engine/gearbox...
Hi all, At long last, I've got some time this weekend to drop the engine/gearbox and get it all fettled ready for the RBRR in October... I'm going to be lowering as one, so could I get away with removing just the gear knob and not the whole gearstick assembly? Also, does anyone have a heavy duty dol...

Re: Onto the floor or out the top?
My chioice would be from below, but I have the pit and access to a cut down front subframe which would allow me to roll the car backwards and forwards on it's suspension still. By yourself from below has to be easier really. Colin I like the idea of two separate ends of the suspension crossmember, ...

Onto the floor or out the top?
Hello :D It's time to get the engine out of my PI to give it the proper rebuild it deserves after the quick/cheap one two years ago when a piston went bang... What's easier? Dropping the engine and gearbox onto the floor or splitting the engine from the gearbox and lifting it out the top? I've got a...

Re: Engine crane needed...please...
Hi Mike, It was a road trip and a half... Managed to reassemble the crane and then kept it so for the return trip from Weymouth - all securely tied down with a couple of extra ratchet straps purchased en route from Didcot to Weymouth  Now trying to find a date and method* for extracting the cur...

Engine crane needed...please...
Hi there, has anyone got a portable/foldable engine hoist/crane that I could borrow this weekend, please? I'm based in Winchester and will have use of a van to collect. Thanks!

Inertia switch for PI fuel cutoff
Hello!
Has anyone got one spare, please? The one in my PI has seen better days and I'd rather not have to swap it out for a modern solution.
Thanks

Re: non working Mk1 starter motor wanted.
Perhaps you could get your original unit rebuilt, unless the damaged flange means it's scrap... At Stoneleigh last month, I met a guy running Classic & Vintage Dynamos - he specialises in rebuilding dynamos, alternators and starter motors. I handed him my PI's original AC Delco alternator (which had...

Re: Triumph/MG Spares Day
It was a good weekend and the great Register stand, pulled together by Amanda and Colin, certainly stood out from the crowd.
