Radio Mounting
Hello again, I replaced my centre console today as the old one was in particularly bad shape. The old one had a modern DIN radio just sitting in the hole above the heater with a bit of chipboard nailed to the wood surround to act as a platform. Under heavy acceleration it had a tendency to slide out...

Re: Radiator Blinds
Thanks for the replies. I don't intend on using it as I think it is beyond salvageable. It's more of a historic curiosity. I won't be removing it unless the radiator desperately needs to come off which I think is unlikely. I am more interested in who the manufacturer would have been, the popularity ...

Radiator Blinds
I think this is the right board to post in as radiator blinds are relevant to engine cooling but it could have quite easily have fit in elsewhere too. We replaced the front grill and bumper on my car a few weeks ago to smarten it up a bit. While doing this we noticed that there is radiator blind fit...

Windscreen wipers
I had a look at a few cars at Stoneleigh today for details about 2000s. It was nice seeing a few of you today! I know the windscreen wipers on my car are wrong becuase they protrude over the edge of the windscreen but every car I saw today had a different configuration. The photo I have from 1978 (p...

Re: some parts and some helped needed!
You mean the MG & Triumph Spares Day? I bought tickets a while a go. I'm sure I'll find some stuff there. Whether or not it's at the right price is a different matter  . I will definitely come and have a chat. The West Surrey local group meetings are off during the Winter and there doesn't appe...

Re: some parts and some helped needed!
My aim is to return the car to the specification shown in this photo form 1978 as much as is reasonably possible. I listen to music on my phone so I don't really care about reception all that much. I'm just going for originality; that's why I'm putting the centre console ash tray back in, not that a...

Re: some parts and some helped needed!
You misread. It has 3.45 that a previous owner put in and is painfully slow. I want to return it to 4.1.

some parts and some helped needed!
So far I have been quite successful with sourcing parts on the forum. I mostly have John to thank for that! I have done some more research and enquiries into the history of the car and discovered there are few things I need to change based on this photo of the car from 1978 I acquired from Geoff P w...

Re: Front Number Plate Mounting
Thanks for the responses, they are greatly appreciated!
I've ordered a pair of cheap steel brackets from rimmers as they have a sale on at the moment.
Hopefully the holes haven't been filled in by the previous owner.
Thanks,
Oliver

Front Number Plate Mounting
The number plate on my car (Mk2 1972) is currently cable tied to a Mk1 VW Golf spoiler the previous owner fitted to the car. The spoiler is going to be removed in the very near future but I'm having a hard time tracking down exactly where and how the front number plate is supposed to be mounted. I p...
