I read Mike's post to say that he has had some cars with electronic ignition and some with points, but not both together. Having said that there were after market electronic systems that retained the points as a switch, thereby prolonging the points life as there was only a tiny current running thro...

I'm trying to remember - door mirrors on your car? If they are like mine here should be grub screw on the chrome bit which may be all it is, but I would take it off and check the plastic mount on the door. Additionally the fuel tank is smaller on the Vitesse so the 2000/2500 has a greater range......

I had my son to help who (being more flexible than I) was able to get some of the more fiddly nuts undone.

I had to replace mine as the rubber failed and replaced it with a polybush.
Trying to remember what I did now, but parcel shelf out is a must.
