Re: Clutch Woes on another '66 Mk1....
Right. Well having only had a few hours of doing little odds and sods over the summer I now have the gearbox and engine apart so I can look at the clutch. The pin on the release fork appears to be in tact, however the clutch does appear to be fairly well adhered to the flywheel. So the question is w...

Re: Is it worth a go ?
Mine is somewhere in the middle MB37617DLO. I've got the early dashboard, overriders in innner position, white dials etc but I also have the later "horn ring" type steering wheel.Anyone got a later pre-facelift mark 1?

Re: Bits of Mk2 I don't need
In my desk drawer I do have the key for the steering lock and the doors (different keys) (along with the usual mixture of Centimes, Pesatas and paperclips....).

Bits of Mk2 I don't need
I'd like to get rid of a load of bulky things that I'm unlikely to ever need. Would anyone like: * 5 off Mk2 wheels with (old) tyres * Complete set of sundym glass and 4 doors (the window glass is still in the doors). * Facelift Mk2 steering column and wheel (the type with the steering lock - I'm 99...

Re: 2012 NATIONAL
It's the 50th anniversary of the MK1 next year so we want as many as possible to attend and celebrate. Excellent. Well myself and LLU808D will endeavour to be there. Incidentally driving from Portsmouth to Croyde I got the best fuel economy ever out of my original red M reg Mk2. This was mostly bec...

Re: 2012 NATIONAL
It sounds like the national was good fun then. I look forward to reading about it in Six Appeal. If I had a working car (or rather if I hadn't sold the working car to buy an older non-working car) I would have been there as it would have been a nice stop off on the way to Devon to see my parents. St...

Re: Clutch Woes on another '66 Mk1....
I am starting to remember both why I love and despise old cars. Starting to work on dropping out the gearbox yesterday. Looking at what was going to get in my way I first identified the exhaust as being a good candidate for removing first. After I'd assembled enough socket extensions and a flexible ...

Re: Clutch Woes on another '66 Mk1....
Right well I've ordered the parts from Chris Witor. I'm not entirely sure they'll arrive before the weekend but I've still got a few jobs to be getting on with.

Re: Clutch Woes on another '66 Mk1....
Overdrive fitted from new fortunately/unfortunately. I've dropped the engine and gearbox out of a Triumph together before which wasn't too hard although quite time consuming. I was thinking it might be less fiddley bolting the bell housing back together outside the car than doing it lying on my back...
