Re: Quiet Forum
Glad to know it's not just me thinking it's quiet. I only go on FB to find out what the offspring are doing, and then only after an email prompt! My Pi is still up on the spit with very little work done since January when I was taken ill. I keep meaning to get back to it, but haven't quite managed t...

Quiet Forum
Hi all,
It seems very quiet on here. I wonder if it's working OK?

Re: Crankshaft thrust washers
If the end-float gets really excessive a thrust washer can drop into the sump thus allowing the crank to run against the block/main bearing cap. This is pretty drastic but not terminal. I have a TR6 CP engine which has been in at least 2 of my previous Triumphs that had this problem (and was why I b...

Re: Stromberg / SU adapter
Not as standard. From the factory, all Mk1s used CD150s (in one form or another). Of course, specialists may have produced manifolds for other type of carbs but not, as I am aware, from the factory.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Valance
Hi Anthony, Glad to see you on here at last! Chris Witor (https://www.chriswitor.com/products.php?cat=245&pg=3) lists a Mk1 lower valance but as out of stock. You could also try Lloyd (https://southwalestriumphs.com/) as he is getting new panels made but I don't l know about Mk1. PAS on a Mk1, yes i...

Re: hi, every one !
Hi Dave, Good to see you on here! Good luck with the search, good estates are very popular and becoming somewhat rare. Maybe you'll have another restoration to do then! I've had 2 estates in the past but now just have a PI saloon (being restored) and a Stag (restoration finished in 2012). Cheers, Mi...

Re: Starting restoration - at last!
Thanks Bill, good to hear from you. I'm a bit more confident in it now. This morning I pushed it over so I could remove the LH doors. That made it balance a bit better! I've done some preliminary digging in the offside sill, maybe not as bad as I thought but still needs sorting. I think I need to ge...

Starting restoration - at last!
Those of you that know me will probably remember me promising for some time to start the restoration of my Mk2 PI. Well, I've finally started. Having restored a number of cars in the past with them firmly supported but staying 'flat', this time I Wanted to use a 'spit' to make those position welding...
