I don't have a Mk1 2000 parts list, well I don't think I have! Chris's site lists both types for the 2000 so I think the 109**...

Re: Later seats C/W headrests
Hi Charles,
Black, but having measure the headrests on the Stag (which appear to be the same size) I've bought a set of Stag foams and covers which I hope will fit.
I hope you are well Charles...
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Starting restoration - at last!
I have the parts books for MK1/early Mk2 (2000 and 2.5PI), 1974 Mk2 (2000, 2500TC and 2.5PI) and 1975 (2000TC, 2500TC and 2500S). In the latter the auto box is listed as BW35 or BW65 saying the change-over was at 1 (in a circle). At the bottom of the page the 1 in a circle should state the commissio...

Later seats C/W headrests
I have always thought that the removeable headrests as used on the later seats (such as the black nylon ones) were the same as used on the Mk2 Stag. Having checked the parts book, I find that this is not the case! To be honest they look very much the same. Having bought a pair of front seats at Ston...

Re: Starting restoration - at last!
No, you are right, spline = BW35. I'll have a look in the 2500TC/S parts book, but I thought all 'S's had a BW65. You learn something new every day!
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: A few more pictures of KNG
Hi Nige, Nah, still can't see a door picture 3! All I can see is some sort of plastic box sitting on a bit of carpet and 2 front struts (with the springs removed) on the left. Also not forgetting a bit of garden hose ! You should be able to post more than 1 picture at a time. I'll try and investigat...

Re: Steering arms
I think the height of the ball joint relative to the centre line of the rack is different, as the PAS rack is bigger in diameter. If that is wrong, you can get 'bump-steer'. On adding PAS, I've always fitted the 'correct arms!

Mike.

Re: Fuel guage reading not compliant!
I've seen them break. Do you have some of them? if not PM me your address and I'll put a few in the post to you. They are the 3/16" size rather than 1/4" which are the others. You can crimp them or if you don't have the correct crimping tool, squash them up a bit with pliers and solder them! However...

Re: Starting restoration - at last!
Hi Nige, Yes, I believe the later cars used the BW65. What is the output from the gearbox, a spline into the box or a flange? if the latter then that is a BW65 - I think... Our first 'S' estate ('P' reg) was MP458 or thereabouts and was Man/Overdrive, our 2nd 'S' estate was 'R reg and that was a BW6...

Re: Servo Hissing
I wouldn't think so. The reason for the air reservoir is that a PI doesn't have quite so much 'vacuum' so the reservoir is used to give a greater volume to help with the braking effort. Well, that's what I've always assumed that is! With a bit of hose stuck in your ear, try to work out where the his...
