Re: rocker shaft, pushrod ?
Hi everyone, I'm glad to say the car is ok now. I have replaced the missing screw in the rocker shaft with a 5mm one, (it's a close fit), I've locked it in place with a nut and washer up against the shaft as well and I now have oil emerging from the shaft all the way along. It was still running a li...

Re: rocker shaft, pushrod ?
Thanks Alec, I have had a look this morning and dismantled the shaft, exactly as you say, the screw is missing so it's rocker 1-6 that have suffered, I need a new shaft and rockers, trying to contact Chris Witior now to see how quick delivery is.
Thanks,
Michael
Thanks,
Michael

Re: rocker shaft, pushrod ?
Hello John, thanks for replying, so as you say a bit of dismantling and try to clean it to restore the oil flow. I'm going to have a go at it in the morning as I have somewhere to work on it where I'm staying. My German hosts (farmers) are quite freindly and have offered to get their tractor mechani...

Re: rocker shaft, pushrod ?
I would add I have spent this last few months using the car regularly to make sure everything is ok but now it's had to cover over a 1000 miles in a matter of days and it's not happy. Oh dear, I though t I had been thorough but there's always the unexpected.
Cheers,
Michael.

rocker shaft, pushrod ?
Hello everyone, I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. I'm on holiday in Germany in my 2000 (the Black Forest) but unfortunately it's developed a fault. Yesterday there was noticable tapping from the engine and while still pulling well the exhaust note was different, uneven I would say. I've had to reset t...

Re: Cigar lighter - reconditioning
Hi, just goes to show it's always worth looking at the condition of the old stuff before condemning it. The cigar lighter in my car never worked since I bought it in 1981, not being a smoker I wasn't bothered but years later when mobile phone chargers became commom I thought I'd better have a look a...

Re: An interesting watch - but £55,000?
Yes, very interesting to watch and it's all come true as well for the modern car. For the motor industry to choose the Triumph as its test bed shows I think that the cars were held in high regard when new. Many aspects of Triumph's cars were ahead of their time and not fully appreciated at the time,...

Re: Tyres for 1970 2000 mk2
Hello, I was considering tyres like yourself about 3 years ago. I also thought about changing to 14inch rims but in the end decided to refurbish the original steel 13 inch ones. The choice of tyres was limited so I ended up with the Uniroyle rally 380, they are still available at about £65-£75. I'm ...

Re: Fuel line leak on 2000mk2 1970
Hi, my fuel line from the tank to the pump is also the original nylon and still serviceable, all the others have been replaced with rubber fuel hose which is widely available. I also used the proper small hose clips not worm drive. Also the steel pipe that runs alongside the engine is original, stil...

Re: Uni Joints
hello again, I see what you mean, I was just checking ANG classic car parts in the uk, so for the £9.00 joint, postage and other charges looking like £23.00 on top ! As a u/j is such a common part could a bearing supplier in your locality supply if you just give them the measurements ? I hope you ca...
