Unfortunately the nut at the fuel pump end has been butchered before then, as it is almost totally rounded off. Pliers it is then!

Fuel pipe leak.
After sorting my lighting woes I have noticed a fuel leak at the point where the pipe is secured by the clamp on the water pump! I would rather replace the pipe from the fuel pump to the carbs. As from May next year all cars that are 40years old will become MOT exempt, with the exception of heavily modified cars.
