So is that mated to a Triumph six, or did you swap engines too? The guy that did mine is tacking another currently.. just wrapping up the bodywork but has a 4HP22 ready - he thinks the starter is going to clash with the dizzy - what did you use?

Re: oil
It has to be better than the asda value 20/50 doesnt it! I used it in my PI and the v8 without any bad effects. At least you get a full 5 litres of that too, and trade card applies if you can get one.

Re: remanufacture of panels
I understand the outer sills are no longer available for mk1 and estates? It is possible to get a full sill, but there are far more expensive and involved in fitting. Mayb worth investigation supply of "cover sills" for mk1?
Thanks

Re: 4 speed auto's
Sorry I dont have photos, but I can PM the details of the man that fitted it if you want - I dont think he visits the forums! Yes, the 4spd auto is the same box as in the rangerover, BMW and Jag, but the 4x4 has the extra bits on the back that you dont want. As it is the same box, you can get a BMW ...

Re: 4 speed auto's
Admittedly my car has a rover v8, which is a bit shorter, but until I removed it I had the 4HP22 (4spd auto) BMW box in my MK2 saloon.

Re: Wedding Car
I dont know if they would go that far, or that late at night, but Atwell Wilson museum (Nr Calne) have a nice range of cars, at modest prices and are very accomodating!

Re: MkII PI - anyone know of it?
Ian, would this be the 2500 I bought from you?
Its not been broken .... though I am still unsure exactly what to do with it since the grey V8 came along. Its only donated its jag brakes and wheels so far!
I still hope to find out who and when it was reshelled! - Really must apply for DVLA history.

longer seat belts required
I am looking for a pair (or 1 would do!) of inertia front seat belts for a my 2.5PI. The ones in it currently are 116" from reel to tip, but my green PI has kangol belts with are 136" long. With different seats the longer belt would be very handy if anyone has any going spare? "Kangol euroflex v" ar...

Re: P6 Diff
With Ken running a 4.3 V8 and not having broken one yet, it should be good enough for me with only an LPG fuelled, currently carb fed, 3.5V8!
He shredded a number of standard 2.5 units before "upgrading" to p6. I have one so will give it a try. Cheaper than 1k for a BMW!

Re: P6 Diff
They were the guys I had already spoken too! They will check the hardness of the original shaft, and try to make the machined one the same, but are adament that 95 rockwell is way too high and infact unachievable! Unfortunately they do not remember the job, nor the name :( Looks like I will have app...
