If you get stuck for the Rocker cover fixings I could probably make something. I've got a little lathe and might have some stainless hex bar I could use. Material is the problem as I don't have a good supply any more.
Panels sound interesting, awaiting some more news.

Re: Tiresome tyres
Had a look on mytyres and there are 3 sensible options, price wise. Have I searched the right size, surprised there are any.

Re: Tiresome tyres
It's a long time since I looked now but I thought the steel wheels were only 5 and the alloys were 5.5.
Perhaps tyres are something else to add to the spares club list !

Re: Tiresome tyres
I have just been looking to see what 185/70 x 1 tyres are available and the choice of those is limited although there are some decent looking Michelins available. 2000 trims on a Stag wheel might work but standard wheels are quite narrow. Were they only 5" wide ? Putting a 185 tyre on a narrow wheel...

Re: Tiresome tyres
I wasn't sure what to do when I first got my 2000. That was back in the mid 90's and the choice of standard 13" tyres was limited then. My ideal would have been to somehow retain the original 2000 wheel trims and find a slightly wider steel wheel to fit wider lower profile tyers onto. I ended up get...

Re: Intermittent Hesitation
Are you allowed to get shot of the points and use an Aldon ignitor or similar ? I fitted one on my car after a few months of daily driving and it's been reliable since. Edit. Sorry will have to learn to read properly missed the bit where you suggested it. I did have one problem with the plastic roto...

Re: alloy rocker cover problem
I seem to remember that alloy rocker covers came with special nuts. The ones I have seen have solid hexagons at the top and long threaded tubes that go inside the cover and screw onto the standard studs. I will have a look to see if I can see any for sale as that isn't a very good description. http:...

Wonder if the parts are the left overs from when the manuals were done ?

Re: It's a Recreation Veeehickle!
That looks similar to the one parked up at the Haynes Museum. Similar colours, perhaps they sold it. I haven't been for a couple of years and they might have decided to sell it as the place is having a lot of building work done.

Re: Mk2 Front Wings.
I broke one years ago now and saved what I could. Trouble is the repair panels were easily available then so although I kept the doors and boot lid I didn't think to save the wings. They wern't brilliant anyway but it's still a shame.
