Re: Springs.
Common fault with Vauxhall - its a regular MOT fail on Astras, Corsas and the like, and carefully checked by most MOT testers., have you seen how thin the rear coil springs are on these ? - probably for weight saving! Well, yes they are, but not by that much. Without measuring, I would put Vauxhall...

Re: Putting production numbers into context.
I at present still have an old fashioned paper licence that does not require updating or re-applying for until I am 70, Me too! Sadly though the time to re-apply is now less than 10 years away.... Doesn't time fly when you're having fun! Cheers, Mike. Dosn't it just fly :( Just got my HGV licence b...

Springs.
Just what do they make springs out of these days ? Out & about in my Vectra today, loud 'twang' from the rear, later investigation shows to be 3/4 of a coil of rear spring broken off, this is the 2nd spring to break on an 08 reg car with just 41k on the clock. Both rear springs on the Omega went the...

Re: Lower suspension arm
If possible, axle stands initially when fitting the lower arm, obviously easier with the wheels off, but it may be better to fully tighten the crossmember/lower arm bolt with the wheels on ramps so that the weight of the car is on them and the suspension is at its normal working height when the stee...

Getting back on topic, I have to log in almost every time I visit the forum (but noy every time :?: ) I only need to enter the first initial of my user name and click on the box that pops up to log in. This also happens with eBay and the Vauxhall forums I use from time to time. Do settings on my PC ...

Re: WCR Car Replica Build
Jason Chinn on the Club Triumph forum has an interest and a lot of info and original photos of the WCR cars, may be he could help. There is a thread on there devoted to the London to Mexico event, the cars and their later history. Good luck with your project, something I could have fancied earlier, ...

Re: Uprated Alternator
A point I forgot to mention in my earlier posts, the Bosch alternator is physically bigger than the Lucas one, and can cause a problem with clearance between itself and the battery, depending on the battery size used. Wouldn't be a problem on facelift models, as the narrower battery tray determines ...
