Re: Early estate listed as breaking
I guess the seller is thinking that he will get more for the car in parts rather than as a complete vehicle. Or hoping to sell the whole car from a standard auction listing as it isnt listed as a 'car' (cheaper listing fees....). The wheelarches and front wings are shot, but the underside Looks half...

Re: models of our own cars
Just reading this topic with interest.... I have an unpainted plaster 2500S saloon ( I recall it is an S, but that is from memory as its stored away and it hasn't seen the light of day for years!). Does anyone know who made them and to those who may have painted one what type of paint was used? Or c...

Re: Yuck Timing
I have several of these 2500 bumper centre foils if anyone is interested - I can't see me getting a Mk1 PI at the moment even if a decent one did surface (although you never know what lies in the future!). I have more than my fair share of cars at the moment........

Re: Rear light lenses wanted.
Although this topic is several months old, and you no doubt have got your reversing light lenses sorted by now, but I just though I'd throw my two pen'th in fwiw - just in case you didn't know - there are different reversing light lenses for Mk2's depending on the age of the car.....

Re: Fuel Sender
Having recently replaced mine in my Mk1 saloon (and removed several from my 'scrapers' to find a good one), I think that you will find that it will only mount in one position. I'll stand corrected, but if you struggle, I 'll check the terminal positions and that should give you some indication. Just...

Re: difficulty starting when warm
Isn't the ballast resistor on the 2500S built into the wiring loom Ted? Its certainly not the separate unit as on earlier cars.

It's still lurking at the back of the garage Dave, but it wanted to remain anonymous because its waiting for some, shall we say, minor tlc...... I'll swop it for the sapphire blue 2000! That sounds like an excellent deal....

Re: difficulty starting when warm
I have a 2500S and fuel evaporation has never really been an issue. In my experience fuel evaporisation seems to affect Mk1's more with Strombergs. I would definitely agree with Dave B's comments about the rotor arm and bin the old one specially if it is the riveted type. The problem may also be rel...

Well, seeing as no one else has said it - Hello, welcome, and I hope you find the right car soon! Not wanting to state the obvious, although your desire to get a 'Big Six' may run away with you, don't buy the first car you see unless you are ablsolutely certain its the right car for you and OK in ev...
