Exhaust manifold - is it interchangeable?
My slow rebuild of the 2000 continues and will be imminently going to be welded and painted - so thoughts are now turning to the naff engine (underpowered and struggles at about 60mph, although revs and sounds fine - carbs rebuilt with new HT leads, spark plugs, red arm, fuel pump, coil etc etc). I'...

Re: Dies after acceleration
I saw some really nice 2000s for good money that didn't look great underneath, so I made a conscious decision to buy something ropey and get it to a standard I'm happy with. At the end of it, I'll have spent more than one already completed, but I'll know every inch of the car and that it has been do...

Re: Dies after acceleration
The other maladies the car is suffering from have taken over... It's had new uprated CW springs/shocks front and back, new front struts, Tony Hart stag brakes fitted to the front and new fuel lines in addition to the above electrical and fuel work. Steering rack mounts changed. New 15" revolution wh...

Re: Interior fabric
I can see why Members get frustrated, but unless people get stuck in - the club, and the cars, will be killed off by apathy; mainly from people only wanting to get involved whilst sat in front of a computer. I joined the committee of the Spares Club as I wanted to show support. I know nothing of par...

Re: Good Morning, a new begining
Hi Pete, Long time, no speak. We all seem to be migrating to the big sixes! I have a Mk2 2000 that is being completely rebuilt (it came with an MOT but must have been checked by "MOTs by post"). New running gear, new brakes, new wheels done, extensive welding starts next month, then paint and then a...

Re: Fuel tank sender needed please
I had the same problem regarding leaking with a new sender unit. I ended up nicking the rubber gasket off my Vitesse in the end to stop it leaking. Also, the retaining rings are much weaker. I broke off the lugs used to tighten it and then realised (when it was in a position to never be moved again)...
