Re: Running temprature
True Alec
interesting thing now after a test run is that its new norm appears to be about 60-65% instead of the steady 50% prior to the work. though not getting any higher.
may need to look at the tuning, such as timing, fuel mixture and carb balancing etc after the idle speed increase

Re: Running temprature
Well I looked further into this Agree that there is less RAM affect but there is also fewer RPM when stationary so the fan is spinning slower. did an electronic idle RPM check and it was turning over at nice slow 400, i have increased this to about 900 so the fan is now spinning at twice the speed. ...

Re: Running temprature
well system flushed including the heater and replaced the thermostat, refilled with ready mixed coolant and now vcan not get the gauge above 75% though today is cooler.
only slight concern is the new thermostat from CW does nor have the little ball float. fingers crossed.

Running temprature
Hi,
Been driving the estate for the last week or so and noticed that standing still for more than a few minutes the temp climes to the top. open road for about a mile or so and its back dead centre.
Apart from thermostat, flushing the system what else would people recommend?
cheers
Ian
