Re: Genuine help from you experts needed!!
Interesting results... Is the jet visibly round or oval on either carb? If not, I'd continue with Pt 2. Changing the piston and needle as complete assemblies is easy to return to the original if necessary. If they are oval, then the needle and jet need replacing anyway. I appreciate that keeping the...

Re: Clutch
Maybe Chris Witor would be the best person to ask for the measurements? If anyone is going to know, it will be Chris..

There was a member on here with the user name 'harvey' who has been apparantly dealing with BW gearboxes for over 35 years. He hasn't been on here for a bit but it may be worth trying to pm him and if contactable, I'm sure he will be able to offer some advice as to whether going with an fault with t...

Re: Genuine help from you experts needed!!
Are you checking the rise / fall of the piston with the damper removed? There is a small guide / bracket attached to the side of the carb body with a small slot headed machine screw, which is visible when the dashpot is off. It locates in a groove in the piston, and correctly located the piston and ...

Re: Genuine help from you experts needed!!
The visible top of the jet on the carburtettor bridge is rarely 'dead central'. Usually when the jet is assembled in the carb, it is centralised relative to the piston and needle position during the gentle nipping up of the nut (red arrow) whilst continously raising / lowering of the piston. When yo...

Re: Genuine help from you experts needed!!
Not questioning anything you've've said in any way :D , but I am assuming of course you are trying to adjust the mixture using the correct part of the carburettor? The green arrow is the mixture adjustment, whilst the red arrow is the securing nut for the jet assembly to the carburettor body, and on...

Yes, any adjustment to the mixture really neccitates the removal of the 'elephants trunk'. Otherwise its like trying to decorate your hallway through the letter box... You should be able to turn the mixture adjusting flats quite easily with your forefinger and thumb; no need to use any type of...

Re: Genuine help from you experts needed!!
It's difficult to suggest any specific points to check, but... Sounds like your lack of performance is definately carb related. Have you checked the basics such as the piston movement - that they rise and fall smoothly and freely with a gentle clunk, the operation of the throttle linkages, the kick ...
