Re: Rusty Custard
The interior light bulb had blown, so in the spirit of further lighting upgrades, we have fitted an LED replacement to the old festoon bulb. 7A36706A-5929-4DAB-A0FE-2DFC1721918F.jpeg BC827BB0-A216-4C27-BD97-319A9324EE48.jpeg D516BEA3-BD54-419E-8352-3D590CA8D466.jpeg 665D1C55-03C9-4E17-AC9F-0829C8E67...

Re: Rusty Custard
Ever onwards - this isolation stuff is getting in the way of prepping the car. Ages ago (last year) I said that I would document fitting headlamp relays, I finally got around to doing something about it, as poor old Martin has been working on his own. I saw a relay conversion kit on eBay, it works b...

Lower Rear Wing Repair Panels
We are working through the bodywork now, I need the lower section of both rear wings behind the rear wheel arches, the part that joins with the rear valence. I have already checked on the South Wales Triumphs website without success, does anyone know if such panels exist and where they might be foun...

Re: Rusty Custard
Update on last post. Partner in crime Martin jacked up one rear wheel today, to test the gearbox and overdrive are OK after the oil and O/D filter change, together with the change of speedo drive to match the new diff ratio. Overdrive works in 3rd gear, but no speedo! Undo cable on the back of the s...

Re: Rusty Custard
Not much done since lockdown, however with the car 82 miles from home it’s not really surprising. However my RBRR colleague Martin has fitted the LED boot lights (because you only need to find things when it’s dark), drained and refilled the O/D gearbox, changed O/D filter. Fitted appropriate speedo...

Re: Why no love for autos?
There’s a lot of comment on the Stag Owners Club forum about an update to the BW35 or BW65 three speed auto gearbox with a later three speed and overdrive ZF box from a later Jaguar. It seems that the conversion is about £4K-£5K, but it transforms the Stag auto improving driveability and fuel consum...

Re: Cylinder heads
Maybe a bit far for you (Bedford), I have used T&L Engineering in the past for reconditioning cylinder heads and inserting hardened valve seats. Very good service very knowledgeable.

Re: Rusty Custard
Went to Stoneleigh today with two parts in mind to shop for, a wiper switch with loom and a plain 2500 grill badge. I’d only been there 15 minutes when my mobile rang, it was johnnydog, “You know you were looking for a plain 2500 grill badge? There’s one on the stand in the club shed”. As it happene...
