Re: Inhibit Switch, BW35 auto box
It is the same in P or N. The switch is the type with the lock nut. I did at one time get hold of a pattern part replacement without the locknut. The adjustment is quite critical and I'd not be happy relying on just thread sealant to hold the switch in the right place. Can't remember exactly how mu...

Re: Inhibit Switch, BW35 auto box
If when it doesn't start you can force the gearlever into a position where it will it does sound like a linkage, or switch, adjustment problem. I'd move the gearlever through the selector range and keep trying to see whether it will start (in both PARK and NEUTRAL, without forcing the lever), then I...

Re: converting a bw35 to modern 4 speed autobox, anyone?
The ZF box (ZF4HP22) from the LDV Convoy V8 gives you a 4 speed auto with an overdrive top and a lock up converter, as well as a cable speedo. Loads of other variants, but some are electronic, and none have a cable speedo. Getting rarer but still available, I've sourced a few at between £350-400 com...

Re: converting a bw35 to modern 4 speed autobox, anyone?
I'd be very interested to get more information on this conversion! An overdrive has been sourced and modified into a self contained unit, which has been mounted directly to the back of the 35 box flange to flange, and the unit itself in the current application is mounted on the same crossmember as ...

Re: converting a bw35 to modern 4 speed autobox, anyone?
ISTR the ZF box was used and mated to the BW35 bellhousing. Someone I know has just added an overdrive to the BW35, and the same could be done with a 65 as well.

Re: Something for the bus fanciers
So if this one is in good order (and the pictures tend to suggest it might be), the valuation is reasonable It certainly seemed to be in very good order when I saw it the other day. Seats were very nice, (and comfortable too), as were all the interior fittings, and externally all the panels were ni...

Re: P6 Diff
P6 diffs are bad starting point for upgrading something else, as even in their best form they're a very weak unit. They're nothing like a Salisbury, in fact, they're not like anything else I can think of. Behind the 4 cylinder engines they were OK, but that wasn't a powerful engine for it's capacity...

Re: BW 35 Autobox Rear Seal
Once the prop is out of the way, carefully lever out the old seal (you don't want to damage the ally tailshaft housing) then tap in the new seal keeping it square, and refit the propshaft.

Re: second hand alternator
Do make sure that the case is 'handed' the correct way. Some were designed to go on the other side of an engine I believe. You can turn the end plate around to alter the "hand" the most you might have to do is drill out the thread in the lug that was the adjuster (although most have stripped themse...

Re: Auto Overhaul
Google "JPAT" and they will have filters in stock, along with everything else you could possibly need! You just need to be sure which type of filter you need though. For future reference I have all the hard parts, clutch drums, gear trains, most casings etc, all inspected and ready for use, as not a...
