Re: Removal of vacuum reservoir on a PI

Is the reservoir even linked to the metering unit? Don't think so - it is linked to the servo and has a one way valve into the manifold. The mu is direct to the inlet and responds only to the engine load - not braking. Reservoir is purely for brakes - possibly for the auto option( which TR never ha...

Re: Inner Wheel Arch Repair Panels.

I wonder if thats a left over from using a saloon as a basis for the convertable body. Handy if they are useable though.

Re: Inner Wheel Arch Repair Panels.

That seems a lot especially if it's just the very edge and lip thats corroded and it isn't seen either. Hopefully localised repairs will be enough, I will have to wait and see, thanks.

Re: mk2 front wings ready

Thanks for the message about the closing date. I've sent my cheque already but having a bit more breathing space helps a lot. To anyone who is thinking about getting some wings but hasn't yet. When I first got my 2000 and was using it every day I tried to keep a stock of bits just in case. At Stonel...

Re: Removal of vacuum reservoir on a PI

Whilst helping a friend I broke the Y piece connector that goes to the reservoir. His brakes were never as good without it. He was considerng fitting a mechanical vacuum pump where a fuel pump would go on the block but I don't know if he did or not in the end. I don't think PI's have a huge amount o...

Re: mk2 front wings ready

If things go to plan I might go to Lloyds to pick up my wings. I have a reasonably large Volvo estate and will be packing them in the back of the car with lots of nice soft stuff to protect them. Depending on the size of the boxes or if they can be safely stacked I could collect a few more if needed...
