Re: panel remanufacture 2015

Hi Lloyd, I've just sent an email to you with some pictures attached. I can add them on here if you are having problems. For the extra £25 it just makes sense to buy a full wing over the 7/8 one, if you don't want all of it cut the new wing back a bit. I think having gone that far I would just fit t...

Re: panel remanufacture 2015

I just read my message again I hope you didn't take my 'whats the point' comment in a negative way. What I meant was that the money could be better spent on other panels if it's only me that wanted them. I say them but it would only be the drivers side one as it's that one causing the problem.

Re: panel remanufacture 2015

Hi Lloyd There doesn't seem much point getting the 7/8ths wings done providing the full ones aren't that much more is anyone else other then me interested anyway ? Is there any way you can find out the height the 1/2 wings will be for sure ? Obviously if they are high enough to replace all of the pr...

Re: Tapping noise

Hopefully your problem is solved but I had a strange tapping on my 2000 and couldn't find the cause. I ended up taking the head off to look at the valves and found one had a bit missing ! The tapping noise was the gas escaping past it into the exhaust manifold. In my cars case it had a slightly unev...

Re: Another DVLA query

For what it's worth I think it would be better to keep the plate it has as it is part of it's history. Trying to deal with the DVLA in any way other than the norm just results in you wanting to bang your head on the floor to be honest.

Re: Any DVLA Experts on Here ?

Thanks for all of the replies. I have come up with some sort of plan, just hope I end up with a logbook of some sort so I will be able to use the car.

Re: Any DVLA Experts on Here ?

The only way to deal with the DVLA is by filling out the forms and sending them. As you say if it isn't anything normal the people you speak to really can't offer any advice, the worst thing is we pay for it to be like this !
I can only wait and see what happens.

Re: Any DVLA Experts on Here ?

I've spoken to the club president (not a Triumph club) and while he wants to help and prevent the club getting a bad name he suggested that perhaps I hadn't paid enough to expect a tax free logbook ! Your Land Rover sounds like it has a bit of a story attached. If it was a 70's british car I...

Re: Any DVLA Experts on Here ?

I should have said the car in question is an incomplete rusty and slightly bent kit car ! I don't want to go spending lots of time and cash rebuilding it so apart from the chassis number there isn't a lot for anyone to inspect. I was tempted to just apply for a logbook but you need confirmation from...

Re: Any DVLA Experts on Here ?

Are you a member of the owners club for that particular car? They should have someone who can advise on that particular model when this has happened. Thats what the DVLA asked ! Trouble is since I bought the car the person who I bought it from seems to have made himself more important within the cl...
