Re: Strange auto reaction

I had the pleasure of delivering a Montego automatic back to it's owner after a gearbox rebuild many years ago. I went to pull out on a busy road and on letting the brake off it just rolled down the slope a bit but wouldn't go. Scared the life out of me but it was fine afterwards. The garage I worke...

Re: mk1 rear brake backing plate

Been so long since I did anything with mine I have forgotten a lot now. Are Mk2 backplates the same size ? I seem to remember thinking it might be a good idea to fit Mk1 backplates with manual adjusters on my Mk2 as the auto adjusters didn't seem to work very well. Not sure if this is a good idea bu...

Re: panel remanufacture 2015

I've been on my hols so only just reading this. I don't mind collecting a few extra but my old Volvo 940 gets well looked after so I can't go wedging too much stuff in it ! I have been asked about a full wing for someone in Southampton, I haven't contacted them about it yet but will do. Once upon a ...

Re: panel remanufacture 2015

Great news Lloyd. I did offer to pick up a few panels for others if I came and got mine, don't know if they would still like me to. While I am happy to wrap mine in silk sheets surrounded by goose feathers and have an armed escort it might be worth others having a box with their name on. Will wings ...

Re: Misfiring solved ! (I hope)

I fitted an Aldon Ignitor to my 2000 not long after I got it. I had used a Luminition kit in a Mini but that seemed far more complicated considering it did the same job. The only problem I had with the ignitor was that the magnet holder that fits on the cam was a bit loose. I fixed this with a bit o...

Re: wanted, glove box lid bit

I will have to see if I still have it and what condition it's in. I seem to remember I had to file it a bit where the screws go through.
Where abouts are you ?

Re: wanted, glove box lid bit

Do you mean the pressed inner skin for a Mk1 glovebox ?
I did have one to use as a pattern to make a carbon fibre replacement for someone.

Re: MOT Exempt?

As with the Historic tax class it makes me wonder how long it will be before they start limiting the amount we can use older cars. Saying that I think the only reason we now no longer have to re-sorn cars that are off the road is because it was costing too much. Someone has probably worked out that ...
