thanks chaps for the advise i will go and fit it in a while,no point in changing to negative,the car has never had a radio fitted from new!!or mirrors,and its got a stainless exhaust,so i think i,am with alec on that one!,cheers

i know that a lot of us have had rotton/rusty sills,well the idea that i have done for years is to used a flexible sealent between the A post/top of front wing,seal the gap,then paint over in body colour,the rain(not that my cars ever get wet!!)will go on the outside of the wing and not along the sm...

they do go empty but not over night,if you find the bowl is empty(the carbs won,t over night)then i think you have a pump problem,see if the engine oil smells of petrol???

check the fuel pump is working correctly,would explain poor morning/cold start,taking longer to pump the fuel up,but hot the fuel is already in the carbs/pump,just an idea??

hold the winder handle,then push on the backing plate,if you then look in between the two you will see a small pin that goes through the handle/winder,you need a long very thin object such as a rivet in width,its a sod on a mk2,much easier on a mk1,you might have to open the window a little so that ...
