If by chance it is a 311399 (late PI and 2500TC) then my workshop manual says this should be asymetrically timed.

Chris Witor sells replacement brass valves if required.

I overhauled my Stag heater (same unit as a MkII) for a weekend. cleaned, painted and new seals.

The wing should only join the sill on the inner edge. The wing floats around the outer sill (curve) and the middle sill (floor).



Best to seal off the top gap to prevend debris forming a rust trap there.
