Have you checked the condition of the Diff mount pins?

They can corrode & snap.

The CV conversion is different to the Datsun driveshaft conversion which just uses larger (metric) U/J's.

Spitfire MkIII replace the sills and respray.
MkI PI set of Corillo rods, balance the engine, 150 BHP cam, fit a good 6-3-1 and then rally it.
MkI PI Estate rebuild it
MkII PI Saloon respray it

TR6 UK does have a 3.45 ratio but check that the States did not get something lower to compensate for the lower power.

You might be better off buying a replacement Crown-Wheel & Pinion (If it's wrecked) and have the unit rebuilt on your side of the pond.

Agree with the various comments. The Mk I Subframe has two brackets with U shaped slots for the exhaust mount bolt to sit in. The Mk II has two brackets with holes which hold the bolt more securely. Don't get me wrong, no problems with Chris's systems. I've got them on two of the PI's. :D However I find sports or semi-sports exhausts are very 'boomy' in an Estate, although my experience has been mainly with 2.5PI's. Hence I'm looking for a standard setup. Also I'd like to save a few beer tokens...
