I think some were used as tr7 test beds de bumpered seats removed etc until roughly the same weight as a tr7 then fitted with tr engine and run for such things as emmision testing pretty sure there is a photo of one being used on canley classics site in one of the blogs by dave pearson.

Impossible to fit manual track rod ends to pas rack thread size on pas much larger but that is the only difference taper size the same

Have had this problem in the past if you dont need the bush again if you are putting in manual box try using a set of stilsons to turn the bush once moved they usually come out quite easily.
