Re: Oil Cooler size
Hello Alec, I believe that Gary's Triumph engine is in a non-Triumph car, which just might have an effect on oil temperature. I fitted an oil cooler with thermostat to my 2500 for towing a very heavy caravan many years ago. It helped when climbing steep gradients with the caravan and car fully loade...

Here's an interesting article on the origin of leaded petrol: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-40593353

Re: Un-Leaded or don't Worry About It.
You raise some very interesting questions again, Clifford, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer them with any confidence. Prior to my article, I'd studied the subject quite deeply out of personal interest, and my research plus occupation led to me being given access to the FBHVC/MIRA/ARG tests...

Re: Un-Leaded or don't Worry About It.
In an effort to answer Clifford's very valid questions, I've copied below an article that I submitted to SIXappeal several years ago (1998/2000?). John's comments help bring it up to date, and in particular I go along with his warning about 'lead memory' reducing over the period of time since leaded...

Re: 2000 MK1 1966 Coat system
I had a similar experience to that described by Wild Bill. I bought a 1965 Royal Blue T2000 in early 1970 and re-sprayed it in 1972 so as to freshen the bodywork shortly after selling it to my Dad. I used cellulose paint as I knew that was what the factory applied and I didn't consider that it may h...

Re: DOW 455K - Buyer Beware
That's a very fair point, Mike. I have deleted the comments I made about the trader's personal 'attributes'.

Re: DOW 455K - Buyer Beware
I'm not seeking sympathy for myself. I received the amount I was hoping for, in fact a bit more than I'd have been prepared to accept, and I'm still happy with it. My sympathy is with the next buyer who no doubt will be kept in the dark as to the several faults, some of which are fairly major. Perha...

DOW 455K - Buyer Beware
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C882101 Jim B drew our attention to this elsewhere, and I thought it worth discussing in a new thread as - although it's good to see an increase in prices for the T2000 range - this one is certainly a giant step too far and I need to make the reasons known. This wa...

...I have had a lot of the unique fixings and other bits yellow passivated .... The clear passivate I've had good results, yellow however is bit hit and miss experimenting still in progress. When my job included specifying zinc plated hardware and brackets etc in the 1970s into the 1980s, clear pas...
