Thanks for that interesting post Rod. Those "parts" people are worth their weight in gold on occasions like these.

Re: Other Barb/Innsbruck forum
Thanks Johnnydog. Sounds very similar to the owners of Stag's breaking away to form another club for it to die some years later.

Other Barb/Innsbruck forum
Hi all, I don't get on the this forum as much as I would like and do not recall anything in Six Appeal regarding the status of the Triumph 2000/2500 Owners Club. What jogged my memory about them was due to sorting through some mags and stuff. The 2014 Stoneleigh programme gave a list of all the rele...

Heater refurb
Hi Groupies, Time for a looksee at the heater system. Vehicle is a 1977 2500s. Whilst I'll start with the valve not being in the correct position i.e. open to allow hot water into the matrix, I have a funny feeling that will be blocked. Also the motor sounds like it can't be bothered to get out of b...

Re: Rust resistance coatings
IAfter it has thoroughly cured I paint with one or two coats of Isopon182 zinc primer and then again two coats of ordinary solvent based gloss paint. After 5 years there has been very little paint loss or chipping and of course no finish is everlasting but it seems pretty durable. Of course, much d...

Rust resistance coatings
Hi all, Got some rear brake stuff to replace and a front sub-frame. Factory just gave a quick coat of black paint. Was this epoxy? What do you think will be best for rear backplates? Epoxy, powder coating or even enamel coating. Would paint like Rustoleum be best? Do you know if powder coating will ...

Re: Stag front brakes
Stag pads are the same as 2000/2.5. But the discs are a larger diameter. this is the difference in the calipers as the legs are londger and the braking force is greater. Yes, pads are the same now but previously they had different part numbers. They look physically the same so it might just be GBP2...

Re: Stag front brakes
When you consider that modern car manufacturers recommend new discs every third pad change, taking out the upsell aspect of it, the quality of the original Triumph brake discs must have been far superior in quality to todays modern brake discs. The moderns certainly rust (surface) quicker. Wonder i...
