My only problem I have with the black rear panel is that they rust underneath.
Had an S and had to replace the complete panel on it for this reason. didn't notice the rust until I took the black one off for a cleanup. Beware :cry:

Trouble is ,don't have enough shed space and don't want to store any cars out in the weather where they will deteriorate . Seen this happen to often with others.

Over the years I have wrecked several 2500's. I bought them cheaply at the time, got a recently recon'd motor and a couple of overdrive gearboxes this way. Over here, unfortunately there is no longer much interest in our cars with so many Jap cars available cheaply. I think you must do what you want...

Not too sure it matters in your case. Since you're fitting relays the original wires are only going to be used to work the relays. I fitted heavier cable from battery to relay and from relay to lamps to cut down voltage drop. Also make sure the earth wires from the lamp fittings are bigger to take t...

Trouble is I'd then have 4 cars. I'd never sell my TC which I've had for 20 years. My BMW Z3 convertible I got to reluctantly replace the Spitfire. My knee wouldn't let me in or out of her. The 525i station wagon far too comfortable and useful to sell. :shock: :cry:

Forgot to mention I also fitted a line fuse between live feed and gear lever switch.

Recently rewired mine and removed the relay I have had for years to simplify wiring. Solenoid only draws 2 amps. Live feed from ignition to gear lever switch, other side of of switch to inhibitor switch, other side of this switch to solenoid, other side of solenoid to earth. Simple, seems to work ok...
