Re: Brake Master Cylinder [1968 2000 mk1]

FWIW , I had my Mk2's done about 10 years ago with a stainless sleeve. in New Zealand. Came complete with new seals and fully assembled. At the time was told if you have problems just clean it with a rag and fit new seals. Never had to. Mine is a tandem cylinder so a much cheaper option than a repla...

I think only the P I's came with bonnet soundproofing. The bonnet on my TC came off a PI. The only one I've seen.

I fitted Austin Princess ones many years ago. IMO not really worth the trouble.

Re: diff seal

Sorry, but looks like the pinion seal needs replacing. The oil will also have washed the grease from the quill shaft bearing which is a sealed grease filled one. this will also need replacing. Not the simplest of jobs. The nose piece will need to come off. I've always dropped the diff to do this but...

Re: possible new owner of 2500TC

Mind you, much the same here now, the ability to go to our nearest big city, buy a $100 (50 pound) unregistered, illegal on the road, wreck, put a battery in it and sneak it home 150 km away are long gone.

Re: Hazard warning wiring

Re: possible new owner of 2500TC

Probably best to do what I did. Found a cheap wreck with all the necessary bits on. As said the worst job is changing the front plate. Not too difficult though. new tie rod ends and bushes is advisable while you''re at it.

Re: Door seals

Baines do supply door seals. Put some on my S. Unlike some others they are easy to fit and so far seem good.
