Breather

Doe's the 2500 gearbox have a breather? Book doesn't tell me. Got a small oil leak that I can't locate. Wondering of it's pressurising and pushing the oil out.
Thanks,
Tony.

Re: Old misfire - again

Clifford,
I've used Pertronix, which I believe is the same as what you're using, on a number of vehicles. I've always static timed them with a lamp as I would have done with a normal points set up with no difficulty.

Re: Wheels & tyres

You're comparatively lucky with the tyre choices that you have available. When I rebuilt the S a few years ago I fitted 195x 70x14's. Can't remember the brand but ran well. We're now stuck with obscure Chinese brands. Just put 2 on the BMW. Triangle Brand. They seem ok but yet to do any distance on ...

Re: Old misfire - again

Clifford, I feel you may be barking up the wrong tree. Over here, our normal summer temp is around 30 degrees C. I've never had your experience with misfiring . Could it be vapour lock ? Fuel pipe(s) running too close to manifold ? I have made some heat shields from aluminium ,oversize to cover the ...

Re: Engine miss firing

Yes, it could be electronic ignition. Fitted one to my 'S' a few years ago ,developed the same systems. Swapped dizzy with one in my other TC also electronic, and cured the problem after looking every were else.

Re: DRLs

FWIW over here (New Zealand) it's illegal to run DRL's with park lights/headlights on.

Re: Oil in coolant - head gasket?

I wouldn't run it without some form of corrosion inhibitor/antifreeze even for a short time. We don't need it over here also but I 've seen some horrible messes in cooling systems that have run on straight water.
