Re: Steering adjustment this weekend

Thorsten,
You say your problems only started when you fitted the 15 inch wheels. Are you sure that the wheels are not fouling something on full lock ?

Re: Wanted nice Mk1 2000

Bear in mind, you're looking for a near perfect 50 year old car. Even here in New Zealand without your rust issues, it would be a big ask, without serious big money changing hands.

Re: gearbox

Not a big job. Drop the driveshaft, undo the big nut holding the driveshaft flange on and remove. hook the seal out and replace. Make sure the running surface on the flange is not too scored, clean it up with a bit of emery cloth. If you have a nyloc nut probably best to replace it with new and reto...

Re: Halogen conversion kits

On my Mk2 I rewired everything, including heavier earths from the headlights. My car now has the best headlights of anything I've owned including my BMW's.

Breather

Doe's the 2500 gearbox have a breather? Book doesn't tell me. Got a small oil leak that I can't locate. Wondering of it's pressurising and pushing the oil out.
Thanks,
Tony.

Re: Old misfire - again

Clifford,
I've used Pertronix, which I believe is the same as what you're using, on a number of vehicles. I've always static timed them with a lamp as I would have done with a normal points set up with no difficulty.

Why do you need an engine oil cooler ? Are you going racing ?
