By the way the long nose crank was up to CC 50.000
The short nose was from CC 50.001
They has matching flywheels and short and long bushes to match the flywheel.

Yes they are a matched pair. Triumph had problems with the long life of their clutches so they had to change the flywheel. Amongst other things, I need the info to stop a competent garage, giving my car as a learning tool to youngsters. They keep on looking for the Triumph USB connection to its comp...

I have driven a car with the clutch back to front so I know you can drive with it. Perhaps not perfectly but you can drive. I did over 1000Km before we found out that it had been installed by a garage back to front.

I am wondering about the function of the springs in a clutch plate. What happens when the clutch is incorrectly mounted i.e. back to front. This is possible we have tried it out on an old engine. Charles by god you'r right. I would had never thought of looking there. I don't like the look of this. I think it could be a little bit tricky and a lot of stripping down.

I have a late 2000 with adjustable steering. 2 days ago it started making a noise and with the lock fully on there was a small amount of movement up and down. I went to my parts catologue and to my surprise there is no adjustable steering shown. Any idea were I can find some drawings of these parts....
