Re: Rusty Custard

Hi Kev,

Thanks for asking, I sourced one from another club member the other weekend.

Sorted now. Just planning the remove/fit process.

Re: Differential Wanted

Hi Alec

Club member Bob Maddock contacted me via the club Facebook and has been able to supply a good 3.45:1 complete diff, which I picked up last night.

I appreciate the offer though, also very interested in your experience with the LSD; are you racing, rallying or is it for road use?

Try Wins International in East Grinstead. I got a rebuilt one on an exchange basis for the rally car. Has put up with a lot of abuse and wasn't that expensive from memory!
Thanks Charles, I’ll give them a call.

Differential Wanted

Mk2 differential Wanted to replace our kn**kered unit. The car is a 1971 2.0 litre with 2.0 diff., but has a 2.5 engine installed so a 2.5 diff would be welcome.

The diff must be in reasonable condition and ready to install.

Message me with offers of units or leads please.

Re: Rusty Custard

Good day and a bad day on Rusty. Fitted the longer bottom rad hose - fitted new water pump - fitted new thermostat housing with take off for rad fan switch. Wired the fan switch up through relay and tested the existing Kenlow fan, we couldn’t get the coolant hot enough to trigger the fan at 90 degre...

Re: Rusty Custard

As requested I have dropped an article in the ‘Body + Trim’ section, covering the seat installation called “Seat Update”.

I hope that someone finds it useful.

Seat Update

The front seats in our prospective RBRR 2020 entry were pretty shot, the foams were reduced pretty much to dust and the driver’s seat had several marks, but not too bad. The diaphragms were just about in one piece, but were starting to split around the securing clips. With the RBRR in mind, we decid...

Re: Petrol Leak - Siphoning

Hi Chris, I assume you have Strombergs? No, I have twin SU HS6s. Before fitting, the same problem was occurring, with fuel siphoning straight out of the end of the steel fuel pipe. I take your point about the Stroms float chamber valves, that’s the same on the SUs and I will investigate both the ne...
