Re: 123 ignition
Hello Joe, thanks for that chart, but to me, none of those settings is close to the original. I know many people are happy with this system but generally they are fitted to replace a totally worn out distributopr which may or may not even be the correct one for the car? it's not surprixing that the...

Re: 123 ignition
The 123 does have a vacuum advance funcition.
Here is the chart of the curves on the standard (non-customisable) unit:
As Alec said it does depend on your engine, but if it helps I run an earlier Mk2 PI engine with HS6s and have mine set on 'B'.

Re: Electronic ignition
I previously had a Petronix unit which was fine, but have since switched to a 123ignition electronic distributor - https://www.123ignitionshop.com/ - which is noticeable smoother, and I like having the option of adjusting the advance. I have the standard Tune but you can also get the Tune+ if you wa...

Re: Dashboard removal and re-covering
I can give you the number for my guy here in Perth who may have one (no guarantees though). I would have thought for the cost and trouble of getting it shipped having your current one re-trimmed would work out about the same, it's not an overly hard job so any trimmer worth their salt shouldn't have...

Re: Anti Roll Bar
I recently fitted the ARB setup to the front of my '77 TC and thought it made a big difference in reducing body roll. I also have Witor's fast road springs installed, and the whole setup is poly bushed.

Roller Rockers
Hi everyone,
I am interested to hear what the general consensus is in regards to roller rockers - are they a worthwhile upgrade?
I have done some homework and found some voices online stating they are a waste of money, while others recommend them as increasing both power and smoothness.

Re: 123 Ignition distributor
Just to update everyone on this, I have fitted the 123 and am currently running it on setting 'B', which is a max mechanical advance of 23 degrees at 4500 and 12 degrees of vac advance. As the car is an auto it rarely sees above 3k through regular driving. The 123 has smoothed out the running of the...

Re: 123 Ignition distributor
Joe, I have a non- programmable 123 dizzy fitted to my car which is a 2500S injected, and can honestly say it's the best modification that I've done - it has 16 settings and once you get it right it completely smooths out the running. I think mine was set on either 1 or 2 - but if you're a Register...

Hand built racer
Not sure if this will be of interest to anyone bar myself, but thought I'd share some quick snaps of a car local to me. Chap who owns it is 73 and did pretty much all the work himself. It hasn't run in a few years, but has a fully worked over 2.5 PI motor, 200bhp was the number thrown out. Heavily l...
