Rear shock mounts

Hi - just had my 1978 TC2000 in for a WOF - it passed but mechanic said the rear shocks bottom mounts were perished. Is it possible to buy them separately -if so where? I had a look at Rimmers website and they appear to be in a kit only.

Parking lights not working

I recently went for a WOF and they identified the park lights not working. I replaced the switch last year with a new one from Rimmers but can't remember checking the park lights. Any suggestions as to what could be the cause?

Re: Choke cable fixed

Thanks for your advice. Whilst waiting for the new cable to come I tried using superglue. Interesting experiment - so far it has worked but I did something stupid. I drilled the knob out just enough for the knob to slide tightly onto the cable - I then squirted superglue in the knob hole and put it ...

Engine miss firing

My 2000TC 1978 has developed a miss, starts ok but under normal running has a strong miss - just started all of a sudden when I was going up a hill. Had an electronic ignition put in 6 months ago - could it be that? What order should I check it out? Should I change the leads and spark plugs first?

Choke cable

The knob on the choke cable has come off - do I have to replace the whole cable or is there a way of re-attaching? Would super-glue do it?

Re: Electronic ignition

A mechanic has suggested a 'drop in' as opposed to a kit, if that makes sense. Can anyone suggest a brand for that. I noticed there is a Chinese brand called Sherryberg that has one available but a bit nervous about putting an unknown brand in my car.

Electronic ignition

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere in the forum before (couldn't find it)- I want to change to electronic ignition. I can get hold of a Petronix system in NZ, is there better or is that system ok? I have a 2000TC, 1978, manual.
