The countdown has begun for the Autobox revamp - but on top of that im supplying a CW new strengthened flexiplate to replace my original damaged one, rear crank oilseal etc but the gearbox rebuilder are asking for new bolts for the flywheel/flexiplate to crankshaft. CW doesnt do them, stating that t...

Re: Front wheel camber
Very interesting stuff, will keep this in mind should i need it! As an aside, my 4 wheel alignment has been put back a week frustratingly, they are having building works done and due to the 'unusually' half decent weather this week the builders are jumping on this to pour a whole new frontage to the...

If i remember rightly on mine, there were 2 on one side, and 6 on the other - for now i cannot remember which side was which, but i would of made note of that somewhere. When i rebuilt it, i replaced like for like, just wit...

Re: mk2 subframe mountings
Regarding those SS straps - having only that option, i did realise after a bit of head scratching that they are handed ( i think on memory they are marked - L and R ) but, they also have to be a certain way up ( not marked) to fit properly. It was some period of time before removing my old corroded ...

Re: Front wheel camber
Ok so regarding what has been done, after i started the reply i realised it would be easier to put up what HASN'T been changed - so since i brought the car in 2006, the steering wheel has never been removed, no bushes in the column have been changed, rack never been off. The steering feels good, no ...

Re: Seat Refurbishment
Hi John. I do not know this guy myself - i have had a chap around of late going through some of my mechanicals with me, he noticed my damaged side panel in the luggage area ( the fuel filler side, poor design where it feeds around the filler neck👀) and mentioned he knows a guy that can sort that.......

Re: Seat Refurbishment
I have been recently led to someone that is a retired trimmer, that is refurbing my rear side panels to the luggage area on my Estate - i will enquire on your behalf, no guarantees, on your issue. What i should of added is even though retired, he seems to still be in ' the know' of certain materials...

Re: mk2 subframe mountings
Another thing - make note of how it all comes apart - there are quite a few washers- sizes, above floor/ under floor, vibration strap position etc to ensure correct sequence of rebuild - and dont forget sealant either side of floor pan....
