Re: Barn Find Triumph Pi

Absolutely stunning. I can't believe it'll have to be sold, I assumed you were doing it for yourself. Someone will get a better than new vehicle though..

Re: 2500TC 1974

Bit more done at the weekend. Plan was to put the floor in that I got from Lloyd and then fit the chassis rail to suit. Once I chopped the floor out turns out the inner sill is more toasted than I thought. Not wanting things to move or fold in half I thought I’d better go back to the chassis rail to...

Re: 2500TC 1974

Thanks Mike. Wasn't too bad to shift the joint. I put the nut on, either side of the base of it between vice jaws, so the arm was supported but the joint was free; then hit it a few times with a 2lb hammer. Didn't take many blows

Re: 2500TC 1974

Feels like progress, and it is, but not in the area that really needs it (Welding  ) I did go the oil fill route but it'll be a while before I can try it out. Word to the wise probably but make sure you rescue the gaiter dished top washer when you take apart the strut. This is so so you don't ...

Re: 2500TC 1974

Thanks gents. Not likely to race or rally that's for sure Mike! Hopefully some spirited driving once I've got the feel for it again. I've done a bit of internet searching and seems for Konis Alec is spot on and about 50ml of oil should be added. Doesn't seem like a lot but i'll see. What oil this sh...

Re: 2500TC 1974

Hi Folks. So, just had to do some surgery to the strut tube. Basically the first inch of tube above the spring platform had rusted through. Gaiter had split at some point and filled the bottom section up with water and mud which sat and did it's evil magic. Was cleaning it up with a wire wheel and f...

Re: 2500TC 1974

Thanks Mike. Yep just the gear lever surround, I'm hoping the dash doesn't need to come out! No reason for it I've seen yet.
