Re: Setting up the engine with a performance cam
A bit late for this thread but next time do this: I have used this method since buying a cam from Wade Cams, sadly now closed, ages ago.
Set the motor to TDC, install the cam and with a dial gauge set the inlet on No.1 to the lift setting at TDC. Get this setting from your cam supplier.
Its done.

Re: Brake Shoe Adjuster?
You have gone to a lot of trouble Johnnydog, many thanks. I have got the shoes adjuster mec. expanding with light pressure on the pedal and no drum attached. When they are reset to fit the drum I can’t get a high pedal. So! maybe I need to extend the brake shaft to the master cylinder. Having just f...

Re: Brake Shoe Adjuster?
Well Johhydog you have gone to a lot of trouble here, many thanks. It would be interesting to know why the part numbers are different, mine being 850 & 851? I am at the point now where the mechanism can be seen to expand with the drum off, with a light pedal pressure, but when it is relieved in orde...

Re: Brake Shoe Adjuster?
Thanks Jonnydog and Charles, Good points by both. I am trying to get confirmation without taking them apart again. It’s hard to see the direction of the teeth on mine and one of mine has a different number than one of the sh units for sale on Chrises web site. I have found a mention on a TR7 forum t...

Re: Brake Shoe Adjuster?
Thanks for the reply and the photos from Chris’s website.
However the question has not been answered.
They are marked with the numbers:- 3134-851 which is on the near side on my car and 3134-850 which is on the off side.
So! is this correct or were they back the front and arse about?

Brake Shoe Adjuster?
The question is which bracket goes on what side. I recently found that my adjusting brackets were installed back the front. The larger one in the photo. Now I think they may also be on the wrong side. The retailers of these don't seem to know what goes where. They are marked with the numbers:- 3134-...

Re: Oil sump plug wont budge
You can buy replacement plugs with a hexagon inset so an allen key can be used but you won't find them everywhere, Best advice, I recently fitted one as a drain plug to a diff I rebuilt. Then I purchased four moor and replaced the two in the gearbox, the sump, and the diff input. I now use an allen...
