The kamacarze auto electrician in me would try using a jumper lead from a white ignition circuit to the other terminal.

Whilst I was dismantling the mk1 Pi I found it still had this bracket and spring to aid the choke return. I made one up for my car but it was only a guess on the sizes. Up late blurry eyed, that is a mk2 you have! The above is for a mk1. Worth giving them a call they might have a mk2 panel.

Try td fitchetts, bought this one 6 months ago. The part number is in the photo. Before you go grinder happy save the bonnet mounting plates on the underside your going to need those. All the best with your project.

Jake if you have any of the stainless rod left over knock a few of the tool bits out and sell them, I can’t even buy the materials and handle for a £10.
