Fitting a new BW65 kickdown cable to gearbox housing - Triumph 2500TC
I'm currently trying to install a new kickdown cable to the BW65 auto box whilst the engine and transmission is still in the car. The difficulty I have encountered is that the plastic barbed fitting only goes in as far as the rubber O ring but I cannot get it to push fully home by hand. Has anyone h...

Which block to rebuild? Recessed or non-recessed?
I am wanting to rebuild a 2500 engine and have a few recessed and non-recessed blocks that I could choose from. Is it better to rebuild a recessed block due to the supposedly better head gasket life? Or is it better to rebuild a non-recessed block due to the ease of decking the block? I'm not planni...

Re: Triumph 2500 TC rear damper mount torque
Thank you for your informative reply. I will fit them as you recommend and certainly will apply anti-seize to the lower mounts. I already know how difficult they are to remove with rusted threads and do not want a repeat experience in the future. By then the skin will have grown back on my knuckles !

Triumph 2500 TC rear damper mount torque
How tight should the rear damper upper and lower mounts be torqued to?
All I can find in the factory repair manual is the torque value for 'Damper and trailing arm to body'

Identifying Triumph 6 cylinder engine
I have a spare Triumph 6 cylinder engine that I wish to use while rebuilding the car's original engine which has a BW 65 but I am unsure if the spare engine is a 2000 or a 2500. It has a 219016 cylinder head and 8 & 5/16"pushrods, which suggests it is a 2500. However, it has a BW 35 auto fitted rath...
