Hi Bill nice to hear from you.
When you get to my age, it's not so much learning new things every day, but re-learning all the things you have forgotten

Feedback "or lack of"
I do wish people who seek technical help on these boards would report back when, and if, they resolve their problem.
Apart from anything else, the feedback forms useful guidance for any one else coming along with the same, or similar problem.

Original Dash Board
If you choose your tyre size carefully, there should be little difference in the rolling diameter.

Starter motor
Are you sure it's the starter? If the solenoid (or switch) was stuck, presumably the engine would start, or at least be turning over.
Might it not be the heater fan?

Need assistance with electrical gremlins
I might well be wrong, but Isn't there spade terminals at the back of the fuse box? I seem to remember having one come off.

The first car club in Britain to achieve Brexit
Charles You must have a different magazine. In my magazine was a photo of a very nice man, with french name (No mention from where). Sir William Lyons is also a french name, so Charles, with your logic, Sir William was obviously a frenchman. :? From number 94, I assume the car is from SE Paris, Dép...

Aren't you being a bit harsh here? The 2007 mot fail is nearly 10 years ago, and if it was restored then, it has had another 9 years to disintegrate again. The price quoted, surely is reasonable for good, properly restored car, and a 2007 mot fail is hardly evidence that it is anything other than gen...

Strange auto reaction
Perhaps need to expand on that a bit;
You must operate the lever through all the gears BEFORE checking the level.
If you check the level without doing that it will be seriously under filled.

clutch siezed
I had a similar problem, the cross shaft was partially sized, so every time I pressed the clutch pedal, the clutch disengaged further, and did not return. In my case the pedal eventually went solid and could not be moved, but it could well be returning partially. The slave cylinder returns as a resu...

Reinstate The 25 Year Rolling Road Tax Exemption
David_rachel I'm not sure exactly which part of my post you believe is not true. Actually your comment regarding the MG 1300 rather proves my point, because at 25 years old, very few considered them classics, however the free road tax made them very affordable every day transport. But where have the...
