Re: 2500 Mk3 Prototype
Talk to Dave Pearson at Canley Classics. He collects prototypes and has 2 of these ones already. Bonnet bulge to fit rover ohc 2600 engine. Or Tony Luxton (ex Triumph Experimental and was at Land Rover when I started there in '95). Doesn't his MkII have similar front panel and bonnet mods? Tony wor...

Make that 5 MKIII's.
There's only a couple of them on our museum website, but last time I counted we had 5 actual cars here.

Yes it does, but he's not on this forum! Alan Chatterton Chairman Triumph 2000/2500/2.5 Register Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No it dosn't! Tony removed the bonnet, and nose cone during the cars last resto due to excessive corrosion in the bonnet frame work (the hinge section). However they w...

Re: works cars fuel tanks
Really? Graham Robson had left the competition department by the end of 1964, and Ray Henderson was effectively in charge from then on (allthough the build specification of the competition cars had more or less been Rays work long before this). The Triumph factory competition department closed follo...

Re: works cars fuel tanks
The WCR cars had additional rubber bag tanks in the boot compartment itself to increase overall capacity, with transfer pumps linking these to the normal tank behind the rear seat. There's a good picture of this set-up in the WCR test car (WRX 902H) in Bill Price's book on the BMC/BL Competitions D...

Re: works cars fuel tanks
Don't know whether the earlier works 2000s had enlarged tanks or not, but wouldn't have thought that there would be much space in the normal location to accommodate a larger volume? The MKI PI's had an extension welded to the drain area of the tank with approximately 1/2 gallon capacity. Its obviou...

Re: triumph 2000 mk2 prototype v8
Having worked on a Lines conversion, and being in the privileged position of owning a factory V8 I might be better placed than most to comment on the quality of each conversion. The factory car as you might expect was built using all the correct parts by highly skilled chaps. I think I could re-crea...

Re: triumph 2000 mk2 prototype v8
Before any possible indication of value can be given, then a lot more information would be needed and in depth photographs of the typical areas of corrosion and condition. Any historical value (prototype etc) would need to be documented too. A true valuation could not be given however without a phy...
