Drop the front suspension off, lower the entire engine and box as one unit to the floor, no need to separate.

Chris, Stag column different, ignore that. Are you sure the bearing had broken, very unusual too. Play in the top of the column is usually due to the outer column skipping down the inner column a bit. Undo the column adjuster, then undo the nut a few turns on the adjuster to make it slack. The repro ones are awful. I put some in mine and they tore apart within weeks.
Find a pair of good second hand units, put new thrust washers in , available from Chris witor.

Mot exemption from next year!

It does say that changes to a vehicle completed prior to 1986 will be deemed as being original, so providing you can proves the changes were made early on it then becomes a VHI and qualifies.

It's not the injection moulding company that's the problem, there are hundreds of those. It's getting an injection moulding tool made to do this. Approx cost, £5-8k, that's the issue.
Perhaps someone knows about 3D printing, I wonder if that is an option?

Another trick to bleed with the slave bolted in place is to open the bleed nipple, have someone SLOWLY press the clutch down, then holding it down undo the clevis pin and push the plunger fully in. Do up the nipple, release pedal and then pump it gently and replace the clevis pin. All this only work...
