Re: cut-outs after reving above 4500rpm
It's good to hear that your car is now lively and performing well, if anyone has done a modification previously maybe not a bad place to start the fault diagnosis. If I have a problem with my engine I tend to start by thinking "what did I change from standard spec?"

Re: Front wheel camber
I cannot think why reversing should be the cause of it, have you had the weight off the front wheels for some reason. I do recall my mk2 doing this after the engine was re-installed, it took a while to settle down to the correct position and camber.

Re: Wooden Door Capping - Driver's Door - Mk2
I'm sorry, I've looked in my loft and I've only got the near side front and rear. You're right about the colour matching, some years ago I purchased a new instrument panel in a Rimmers sale and it is a lot darker than the one still in my car. I only bought it as it was cheap (£5.00) as you never kno...

Re: Wooden Door Capping - Driver's Door - Mk2
Does it have to be NOS, what about 2nd had ? It would not be a perfect match either way as the ones on my car are a pair in terms of grain.
I do have some cappings but not sure which ones, I'll check my stock.

Re: 2500S engine reluctant to start and barely runs.
Hi Clifford, I've only just seen this but a few years ago my 2000 idled quite well but was reluctant to rev and lacked power. It was all down to high resistance in the plug leads and the carbon brush, I don't know if you have made any progress but maybe worth a check, the leads should be 420ohms per...

Re: Saying Hello
They were all daily driver cars at one time , so nothing wrong in that. I remember covering 20,000 miles one year in mine when it was my only transport.

Re: Rust resistance coatings
I haven't restored my back plates recently but I did my wheels 5 years ago so as they are sublect to the same type of weathering I would certainly use the same method. After a thorough cleaning and wire brushing (I've never bothered with blasting or powder coating as I didn't know of anyone local of...

Re: Triumph touring
Well, that's the little French adventure over, the car has performed magnificiently, it held 110km,ph on the return journey back up to Bruay-la-Buissière about 45 mins from Calais where we had an overnight stop, a little quicker on the way back, I think we shaved about half an hour off the travellin...
