Re: beige bomber - back to it.... annus bizarrus
OK - long time no here - aplogies but a list of things got in the way: Taunus transit is now done and tucked up ready for the racer...... but at least German side all in order. My first son arrived June 13th..... so all out taking care of him and being enthralled every day with his all out brillianc...

Re: Wheel Specs?
You are in the world of jdm spec fella - and have a HUGE aftermarket supply not so far from you guys. I went shopping there for mine http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o313/gtvsaviour/For%20T2000%20register/asshesitsnow.jpg close-up http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o313/gtvsaviour/For%20T2000%20re...

Re: beige bomber - altitude adjustment and interior coming along
Ha - I know what you mean...... on all points! The GT6 is in fact a proper 70's modsports car - I'm trying to trace the history of it and have contact with a couple of the old drivers. Original secret spec engines were traced to a garden in Cumbria but were worthless unfortunately. As there really i...

Re: beige bomber - altitude adjustment and interior coming along
I haven't any of the Mk1 unfortunately - will sort it out once I get it back this side of Brussels (in storage for now). Here's the GT6 - looking a little sorry for itself - but was peanuts so had to take it on. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o313/gtvsaviour/GT6/GT6front3qtr.jpg http://i123.phot...

Re: beige bomber - altitude adjustment and interior coming along
Umquat - you've read my mind...... but it'll be the Mk1 2000 that'll be on hydraulics. I've basically got to think of a re-inforced rear swing arm or replacing them as they're too brittle for anything seriously slammed - I'll probably get some steel made up - as it'll be a complete conversion (or th...

Re: beige bomber - altitude adjustment and interior coming along
Charles - TBH I haven't measured the drop - but I can only get 3fingers under the gearbox crossmember - so am also waiting with longer springs to go in - as the roads here are just as bad - if not worse. The fact I'm running 8X13's with stretched rubber is also adding to the effect. I have TR6 15" s...

beige bomber - chop first casualty and paint prepping
Thanks for the advice - will be looking at that this weekend I hope. Right - not much of an update..... but it's slow going at the mo' with work and 'other stuff'. Tuesday was NOT a good day - the whole garage was flooded due to the drains not being cleared outside - so a load of gear messed up and ...

Re: Strut brace
I'm looking at doing this myself - any pics of yours (or previous ones ) fitted?
I was thinking of a brace back to the centre of the bulkhead - meeting in the middle - from both sides - perhaps mirrored around the front of the rocker cover to make a haxagonal shape overall.....

Re: beige bomber - altitude adjustment and interior coming along
Well - seatbelts are now in - still haven't found the seat base  - but narrowed down suspect stairwells  Got everything wired up - and had a series of clicks from te solenoid - rapid staccato style but no engine action. Checked and double checked everything - all hooked up OK. Any ideas f...

Re: beige bomber - altitude adjustment and interior coming along
Yup - I have to re-wrap it as a previous owner/worker had used electricians tape so I spent quite a while cleaning the thing back..... so loom tape it most definitely is. Clutch now bled and fitted. Cut out the captive nuts and reinforced plates for the seatbelt securings. Weld them in this evening ...
